Authorities are searching for a man who police say stole a large amount of cash May 2 from the US Bank branch inside Pavilions Market at 1110 W. Alameda Ave.
At 5:15 p.m., the man told the bank teller that he had a handgun inside his black backpack when he demanded the cash. The employees, fearing for their safety, handed over the cash, and the man was last seen walking out the front door, said Burbank Police Sgt. Robert Quesada.
According to surveillance video from the market, the man had stolen bottles of alcohol earlier in day on two visits.
He is in his mid- to late 30s, medium height and with some facial hair. He was wearing red tinted sunglasses, a long-sleeved black shirt, dark shorts and tan baseball hat.
