4 to 11 p.m.: Burbank’s centennial celebration encompasses six city blocks, including San Fernando Boulevard, Palm Avenue, AMC Walkway, Orange Grove Avenue and Olive Avenue between Magnolia Boulevard and Angeleno Avenue. Free shuttles courtesy of SuperShuttle run continuously with stops at McCambridge Park Recreation Center, 1515 N. Glenoaks Blvd., and the downtown Burbank Metrolink station, 201 N. Front St. Carpooling is recommended. Parking structures on Orange Grove Avenue between San Fernando Road and Third Street will be closed. All other parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
3:30 to 4:30 p.m.: A pre-party show will feature The Bluez Express, a swing and rock band, on Centennial Way at Olive Avenue and Third Street.
5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.: The opening ceremony will begin with the national anthem, sung by Ashley Aparicio, in front of City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave., and a live broadcast with NBC’s Fritz Coleman, civic dignitaries, former mayors and celebrities. Mickey and Minnie Mouse will present a cupcake display and will give away cupcakes on a first-come, first-served basis. A time capsule will be revealed at Angeleno Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard.
