All-area First Team

Noah Bernstein, sophomore, La Cañada: Ended the season with a 75.4 scoring average and finished fifth in the Rio Hondo League. Tied for 57th in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regional with an 83.

Jack Bouchard, sophomore, Flintridge Prep: Placed second in the Prep League for the second straight year. Rounded out a stellar season for the Rebels tied for 57th in the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regional after he carded an 83.

Kelsey Danzeisen, junior, Burroughs: Missed the cut for state with a 73 (tied for 27th) in the Southern California Golf Assn. Regional Qualifier. It was a stellar run after he placed fifth in the Pacific League this year and failed to make the postseason in 2010.

Richard Maloof, senior, St. Francis: Shot an 80 to tie for 41st in the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regional. Finished in third place for the Golden Knights in the Mission League.

Derek Patao, senior, La Cañada: The second consecutive All-Area selection finished tied for second in the Rio Hondo League. Ended his season with an 86 in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regional, which tied him for 75th.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Richard Tetu, La Cañada: Guided the Spartans to an undefeated, 19-0 (8-0 in Rio Hondo League), record this season. His best golfer, Jay Lim, advanced all the way to the Southern California Golf Assn. Regional Qualifier and missed the cut for State by one shot. It was the highest any area golfer placed this season.
