A man posing as a customer walked into a Burbank business on Magnolia Boulevard yesterday and allegedly tied up the store owner at gunpoint and fled on foot with more than $10,000 in merchandise, police said.
“The individual was initially asking to see some merchandise and then produced a handgun,” Burbank Police Officer Joshua Kendrick said. “He grabbed the owner and forced her to the back of the store where she was ordered to the floor and her hands and feet were bound.”
Kendrick said the suspect then ransacked the store and took more than $10,000 of merchandise. He said the store owner was not injured and was still evaluating the exact amount of the loss.
