No one would be complaining about Walmart coming to Burbank if it paid its employees better wages and provided health care coverage at a more reasonable cost.
Walmart under Sam Walton was probably a better corporate citizen than today's company — he was proud to sell products made in America, for instance.
The only way to stop the spread of Walmart is not to shop there — a tall order. But we all must decide if we want to help the people in our own communities, or just help Walton’s heirs acquire even more unearned wealth.
