RECORDS: Burbank and Pasadena are both 3-3, 2-1 in the Pacific League.
LAST WEEK: Burbank lost to Arcadia, 38-7; Pasadena defeated Crescenta Valley, 53-42.
OUTLOOK: Burbank is hoping to bounce back after suffering an ugly loss a week ago. The locals couldn't get much out of their offense in the first half against Arcadia, falling behind, 32-0, at halftime. The defense is likely going to be tested against Pasadena, which staged a torrid comeback last week to get past the Falcons, scoring 33 unanswered points. Pasadena has a dangerous player in quarterback Brandon Cox. Cox can run and pass the ball with equal efficiently, proving that last week by completing 15 of 24 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns and carrying the ball 10 times for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
SOMETHING INTERESTING: The Burbank offense averages 24.8 points a game and the Pasadena defense surrenders 37.7 points a contest.
BELL-JEFF AT ST. ANTHONY

RECORDS: The Guards are 3-4, 0-1 in the Santa Cruz League; the Saints are 2-4, 0-1.
LAST WEEK: Bell-Jeff lost to Salesian, 53-6; St. Anthony lost to St. Monica, 47-12.
OUTLOOK: It was not a good league opener last week for Bell-Jeff. In the loss, the Guards had several players go down with injuries. After finishing last in league last season, Bell-Jeff will not likely be able to absorb many more losses if it hopes to make it to the postseason. The Guards have the least successful defense in the league, allowing 30.7 points a game. St. Anthony hasn't been much better, giving up 26.1 points a game. The Saints have a talented running back in Javen Lopez.
