Freshman catcher Michelle Santiago went two for four with two runs scored and freshman pitcher Davina Del Castillo went two for three, including a home run and three RBI. Junior outfielder Brice Edrington also hit a two-run home run and collected three RBI and designated hitter Haley Schulman had two hits to raise her team-leading batting average to .480.
In the circle, Del Castillo pitched five complete innings, allowing two hits and striking out seven.
Arcadia 2, Burbank 1: The Bulldogs received a solid performance from starting pitcher Daniel Starkand in dropping the Pacific League game Tuesday at Burbank.
Starkand sent the distance in recording the seven-inning four-hitter. He strick out four and didn't allow a walk.
Arcadia pushed across two runs in the fifth inning. Burbank cut the lead in half with run in the sixth.
Dylan Mersola was two for three with a double and a walk and Paul Frias was two for three with a double and a run batted in for the Bulldogs, who had eight hits.
TRACK AND FIELD
Burroughs vs. Muir: The Indians girls' team picked up a 98-25 win and the boys notched an 80-51 victory in Pacific League action at Muir.
For the girls, Burroughs had a double winner in Giovanna Carrasco in the 100 hurdles (16.9 seconds) and the 300 hurdles (50.5). Other winners included Nohely Romero in the 200 (27.4), Gracia Innocentia in the 800 (2:29), Gigi Chamberlain in the 1,600 (6:05), Elizabeth Brooke in the pole vault (7 feet 6), Nicole Baczkowski in the high jump (4-4), Gabby Pineiro in the long jump (14-4) and Tamar Hallajian in the triple jump (27-4).
For the boys, Carlos Ortega was a double winner, finishing first in the 110 hurdles (18.6) and the 300 hurdles (44.9). Other winners included Charlie Camacho in the 800 (2:08), Brandon Andrade in the 3,200 (10:18), Jerry Truong in the pole vault (9-6), Sean Vasquez in the triple jump (35-4), Luke Coblentz in the shot put (39-4) and Jason Hamm in the discus (93-10).
