A question about gay marriage

May 25, 2012

The president says he thinks “same-sex couples should be able to get married,” Paul Katami says “these are peoples’ lives” and that everyone should throw their support behind marriage equality, and Rep. Adam Schiff says such equality “extends one of our most basic rights of citizenship to all Americans, that is the right to marry the person you love.”

But why do they restrict these arguments about rights and loving to just two people wishing a formal relationship, and how do we continue to deny that loving brothers and sisters don't have the same basic rights? Can I ever expect these questions to be answered?
