The pedestrian was not injured and nothing was stolen because he was able to run away and call police, Kendrick said. The suspect ran in the opposite direction and met up with two other men whose descriptions were not available.
A similar incident took place at a business on the 300 block of East Magnolia Boulevard at 11:10 p.m.
A man and a woman who were part of a cleaning crew for a business in the area noticed three men walking near them, Kendrick said. The men started to become verbally abusive, yelling profanities as they came within about five feet of the pair.
That’s when cleaning crew ran into the business as one suspect brandished a knife and began hitting and kicking the doors of the business.
The man and woman were able to escape harm inside the business, Kendrick said.
All three suspects were described as Latino, with the first man described as being about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a heavy build, shaved head, black shirt and black pants, Kendrick said.
The second man was described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall with an average build and wearing a long-sleeved black shirt and black pants. The third suspect was described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a heavy build, shaved head wearing a gray short-sleeved shirt and black pants.
