Burbank police on Monday identified the man who was killed in a crash on Sunday as 33-year-old Roman Ramos Rubio, and said the 29-year-old driver who hit him could face a vehicular manslaughter charge in court on Tuesday.
That man, identified by police as Ivan Valle, also of Burbank, remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail. Police allege Valle was intoxicated and driving without a valid driver's license when the crash occurred early Sunday morning.
The fatal crash occurred when Valle's SUV collided head-on with a sedan driven by Rubio at the intersection of Buena Vista Street and Alameda Avenue at approximately 5:40 a.m. The impact of the collision caused the sedan to strike a light pole and a fence, while the SUV struck and sheared a fire hydrant.
