Burroughs graduate Carole Robinson and her husband, Richard, celebrated their 50-year marriage in April at a party hosted by their three daughters and their families in Quartz Hill.
When Carole and Richard were students at San Jose State University, they met at a homecoming event. They were married in 1963 in Glendale.
Through their 50 years together, they have lived in Portland, Las Vegas, Washington D. C. and Los Angeles. They now live in Sonora.
Carole graduated in 1963 from San Jose State with an elementary education degree. After a brief teaching career, she became a full-time homemaker. After her children were grown, she was a field representative for L.A. County Supervisor Michael Antonovich for eight years.
Richard grew up in the Berkeley-El Cerrito area and graduated from El Cerrito High School. After a four-year enlistment in the Air Force, he attended San Jose State University, graduating in 1962. He was a federal narcotics agent and held supervisory and management positions for 26 years.
