May 29, 2013

Two Pasadena men were arrested after officers reportedly found several stolen items, including GPS devices, iPhones, iPods and garage openers, in their car during a traffic stop in Burbank early Tuesday morning, police said.

At 1:40 a.m., officers stopped the pair – Keith Anderson, 19, and Damon Allen, 21 – as they exited the Golden State (5) Freeway at Scott Road in a BMW, said Burbank Police Officer Joshua Kendrick.

Upon approaching the vehicle, police smelled marijuana and subsequently searched the suspects and their vehicle. In addition to the digital devices, police also recovered watches and sunglasses from the car, Kendrick said.

Officers reportedly also discovered a small bag of marijuana in the car, a rolled blunt in Allen’s pocket, and a burglary tool in Anderson’s pocket, Kendrick said.

Anderson and Allen allegedly told police the items belonged to their family members, Kendrick said.

The total value of the items found in the car was not immediately known.

Through the belongings found in the car, police were able to track down a woman who claimed that her car was recently broken into.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen items and burglary tools, Kendrick said.
