The annual Downtown Burbank Car Classic is ready to shift into high gear on Saturday with this year's event featuring a Red Carpet Expo with celebrity cars from the Petersen Museum and Warner Bros.
The event will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. and cars will be lined up throughout downtown Burbank.
Cars will include a 1971 De Tomaso Pantera owned by Elvis Presley, the "Greased Lighting" 1946 Ford from the movie "Grease," the 2001 Honda S2000 from "2 Fast 2 Furious," the General Lee from the original "The Dukes of Hazzard" TV series, the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine from the "Scooby-Doo" movies and the 1966 TV Batmobile designed by George Barris.
In addition, Barris will receive a lifetime achievement award during the event. His reputation for creating customized cars has become legendary in television and film.
In the 1960s, he created "The Munster Koach" for the television show, "The Munsters." He also designed the Ford used in "The Beverly Hillbillies" show.
