Two burglary suspects who police believe are “armed and dangerous” remain at large after a four-hour search that shut down part of Burbank’s hillside area Tuesday, police said.
Just before 9 a.m., police responded to the 900 block of Irving Drive regarding a burglary in progress, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
A firearm was reportedly missing from a home, and two suspects – one of whom was described as a black man wearing jeans and possibly a hoodie – were at large, Ryburn said. A description of the second suspect was not available.
A third man was detained near the scene, and on Tuesday afternoon, was being questioned by police.
Roughly 25 police personnel were involved in the search – which spanned along Irving, Brown, Joaquin and Bel Aire drives – along with three K-9 units and a helicopter. The search was called off at 1 p.m.
The streets, which were shut down during the search, have since been reopened.
