Four Burbank police officers participated in a competition last week in Orange County in which motor officers from law enforcement agencies throughout the state were challenged with navigating a series of traffic-cone patterns.

Of the four local officers who participated in the Orange County Traffic Officers Assn.’s “Top Gun Motor Rodeo,” Burbank Police Officer Ryan Murphy reached the semifinals before he was eliminated, according to Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Roughly 250 officers statewide participated in the event, which raised money for fallen or injured officers and their families, Ryburn said.
