Grab your scarves and beanies and head to downtown Burbank Thursday for the grand opening of a temporary ice-skating rink.
On Thursday, the Los Angeles Ice Theater will perform at the rink’s grand opening and ribbon cutting, which will kick off at 5 p.m. After the performance, the rink will be open to the public for a skating session.
The rink — brought by the downtown Burbank property-based Business Improvement District — has been constructed in the parking lot behind City Hall, on the corner of Third Street and Orange Grove Avenue.
The rink can accommodate up to 165 skaters at a time, with each skating session lasting up to 90 minutes. A session, along with an ice-skate rental, will cost each patron $13.
The rink is slated to open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and until 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. During the week of Christmas and New Year’s Day, the rink will open at 10 a.m.
