A 28-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested after allegedly stealing $1,472 worth of items — including two flat-screen televisions — from Target in Burbank on three occasions over the course of a week, police said.
The man, identified by police as Gustavo Guerrero, reportedly left the Empire Center store Monday with a shopping cart full of 14 items, including boy’s shirts and pants, infant leggings, two pairs of gloves and boots, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
When the store’s loss prevention officers stopped Guerrero, they reportedly recognized him from two previous thefts, Ryburn said.
Guerrero had allegedly stolen two televisions from the store last week.
Last Wednesday, he allegedly entered the store, put a television into his shopping cart and approached the customer service counter in an attempt to return the item. When customer service employees told him he couldn’t do so without a receipt, he walked out — with the television.
