Police look into series of vandalism incidents

January 02, 2014

Police are investigating a series of vandalism incidents after three vehicles within three blocks were found Wednesday with slashed tires and etched with derogatory words, police said.

In the 700 block of North Valley Street at 6:30 a.m., a 2014 Bentley was found with three flat tires, scratches and a derogatory word etched into the hood of the vehicle, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Later that morning, a 2014 Mercedes parked behind a business in the 4400 block of West Magnolia Boulevard was reportedly found with four slashed tires, a smashed front windshield and derogatory slurs etched into the vehicle.

While responding, officers smelled gas and discovered that vandals broke the gas and water lines on top of the business at which the car was parked, causing damage to the building from leaking water, Ryburn said.

Additionally, a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta was reportedly found that same day in the 800 block of North Valley Street with three slashed tires.

Police believe the incidents occurred overnight and are all connected because of their similarities and close proximity.

Anyone with information about the vandalism reports is urged to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
