Hart 10, Burbank 7: The Bulldogs fell to the host Indians on Saturday in the Easton Tournament.
Burbank had a 7-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning before Hart tallied five runs in its half of the fifth and tacked on five more in the sixth.
Bellarmine-Jefferson 10, Faith Baptist 3: The Guards improved to 3-0 on the season with a nonleague victory Tuesday at Gross Park.
Pitcher Mia Acosta (3-0) got the win, striking out 11. She was also two for four with two runs batted in. Sam Casarez was three for four with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI and Tiffany Galindo was two for four with two runs scored.
Burbank in Hart Tournament: The Bulldogs began their season Friday, earning an 8-4 win over Thousand Oaks before suffering a 6-1 loss to Canyon Country Canyon.
In the win against Thousand Oaks, Burbank had 11 hits. Lily Winn was two for four with one run scored and one run driven in, Julia Duarte was also two for four with one run scored and two RBI. Isabele Frias and Cailey Stevenson also drove in runs for the Bulldogs (1-10).
Kaitlin Brooks got the win in the circle, striking out eight.
The Bulldogs fell behind, 1-0, in the bottom of the first before rallying for three runs in the third for a lead they would not relinquish.
Burroughs in Simi Valley Tournament: The Indians began the event Saturday with a 9-2 loss against Buena before coming back to notch a 9-0 win against La Reina.
In the opener, Burroughs (1-1), which was missing key players, committed five errors and gave up six unearned runs.
The team could muster just two hits, a triple by Michelle Santiago and a single by sophomore Kaitlin Okimoto.
Against La Reina, sophomore Dani Ryan pitched a two-hit shutout while striking out six.
