Thousands are expected to flood Olive Avenue Saturday morning for the 33rd annual Burbank on Parade with this year’s theme “Burbank: City of the Future.”
The parade, which will kick off at 11 a.m., will travel east on Olive Avenue from Keystone to Lomita streets.
The mile-long parade, which will feature a helicopter flyover by the Burbank Police Department and nearly 400 participants, will wrap up at George Izay Park with an awards ceremony, food trucks, music and prize giveaways.
Rebecca Mieliwocki, a Glendale resident and seventh-grade English teacher at Luther Middle School in Burbank, was chosen as this year’s parade grand marshal. Mieliwocki was honored by President Barack Obama in 2012 after being selected as National Teacher of the Year.
