I heard the debate between Rep. James Rogan and state Sen. Adam Schiff and could not believe what I heard. Schiff came right out and lied to the listeners of this debate. Schiff lied by saying that Rogan never supported trigger locks to be included in fire arm sales. In fact, Rogan voted to provide trigger locks in the sale of firearms. Schiff's pattern of lies and deceit just continue. Remember when Schiff sent out a mailer saying that Rogan had never helped the Armenian community?

A big thanks to Rep. Adam Schiff for coming to the rescue of Ambassador Susan Rice and avoiding further embarrassment to our president in the Benghazi incident. We wouldn't want our president actually to have to answer hard questions about why four Americans are dead under his watch. It's old news now, let's forget about it and move on. Tim Elliott Burbank

I hope that Rep. Adam Schiff has as much enthusiasm for identifying dangerous mentally ill people and addressing the extreme violence in TV, movies and video games as he does for jumping on the ineffective gun control issue. Gun control fanatics point to the NRA as a cause for gun violence, and ultraviolent movie makers like Quentin Tarantino get a pass. I do hope Rep. Schiff gets the priorities straight. Robert Shaffer GLENDALE -- While state Sen. Adam Schiff touted his endorsements by area Republicans in his race to unseat Rep. James Rogan, a spokesman for the congressman said the senator's supporters represent the "weak-kneed" wing of the GOP. Schiff, a Democrat representing Glendale, is challenging Rogan for his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has claimed more GOP endorsements in the district than the twice-elected Rogan. The reason for the switch?

Ka-ching! That's become a familiar sound in the San Fernando Valley slugfest between Reps. Howard Berman and Brad Sherman. Together, the two Democrats have spent more than $9 million through Sept. 30, according to the latest campaign finance reports. Democrat Adam Schiff and Republican Jim Rogan set a record for a California House race by spending $11.5 million in their 2000 Glendale-area contest won by Schiff. Heading into the crucial final weeks before the Nov. 6 election, Sherman had more cash on hand than Berman -- $1.8 million to about $394,000, according to the reports.
