DILLON Dillon is a 10-year-old, medium-sized, neutered male Staffordshire mix. His family moved to an apartment and could no longer keep him. Despite his loss, he maintains his ultra-sweet, unassuming and quiet disposition. He is still very active; he walked the entire Burbank on Parade with a smile on his face. His identification number is A019423. If you are interested in adopting Dillon, call the Burbank Animal Shelter and give his ID number. Adoption fees are $84 for dogs, $58 for cats and $30 for rabbits.

In light of record temperatures in the Burbank and Los Angeles areas, city officials are urging residents to conserve their energy consumption over the weekend. They ask that residents please turn off all non-essential appliances and equipment between 4 and 6 p.m. when the demand for energy peaks as people return from work. The city has cooling centers at the Josyln Adult Center, 1301 W. Olive Ave., and the McCambridge Recreation Center, 1515 N. Glenoaks Blvd., open at 8 a.m., seven days a week.
