CONRAD Lauri Kirsten Rockholm of Los Angeles and Jonathan Manak Conrad of El Segundo have announced their plans to marry in January. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ellen and Dr. Jeff Rockholm of Placerville. She graduated from Loretto High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University. She is employed with the Public Health Foundation Enterprises as a dietitian for the Women, Infant and Children program. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Rae and Helen Conrad of La Crescenta.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Jillian E. Canfield has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Canfield of Norman, Okla., and the daughter of David Canfield of Burbank. Canfield is a 2001 graduate of Norman High School. Air Force Airman Eric M. White has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is the son of Katherine Meyer of La Crescenta and the brother of Christopher White of Spokane, Wash.

Lisa Palermo, the daughter of Ross and Donna Lowande of Burbank, made the honor roll for the spring semester at the University of San Diego. Palermo, who is a senior, earned first honors with a grade point average of 3.65 or higher for the semester. She is majoring in accounting. Christopher Oliver, son of Sue and Dennis Oliver of La Crescenta, has received the rank of Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project, Oliver removed climbing holds on climbing walls at Wilson Middle School.

BYER -- GRAY Julie Byer and Daniel Gray were married at the Neighborhood Church in Palos Verdes. The Rev. Donald Barnes officiated. The matron of honor was Kim Corpuz, the bride's sister. The bridesmaids were the groom's sisters Victoria Collier and Teresa Collier, the bride's sister-in-law Denise Byer, Maria Barrios and Denyelle Dioguardi. The best man was Brent Overfelt. The groomsmen were the bride's brothers Todd Byer and Jeff Byer, David La Roche, Brian Porter and Tim Weir.

ACKERMAN -- BRYANT Monica Ackerman and David Bryant have announced their plans to marry. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Les and Maria Ackerman of Tujunga. She graduated from the University of Florida with a journalism degree. She will take a position at ABC News in New York. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Robert and June Bryant of St. Petersburg, Fla. He graduated from the University of West Florida with a degree in finance and accounting.

Tumbaga -- Matsen Evelyn G. Tumbaga of Bremerton, Wash. and Bryan C. Matsen of Glendale, were married at Bremerton Navy Chapel in Bremerton, Wash. Commander Phillip Kanicki officiated. Rose Lontoc served as the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Elsie Blanco, Vangie Tumbaga and Kathy Broman. Krista Schultz and Leanne Wright served as flower girls. Bruce Matsen, the groom's brother, was the best man. The groomsmen were David Johnson, Walter Cole and Gregg Matsen.

Kevin William Plumtree, the son of Gary and Lois Plumtree of Glendale, attained the rank of Eagle Scout. For his Eagle project, Plumtree removed old broken slabs from a hill at Pacific Christian Schools and made a new stairway out of railroad ties. Plumtree is a member of Verdugo Hills Council Troop 176, sponsored by Salem Lutheran Church in Glendale. His Scouting honors and awards include 49 merit badges, a world convention award, the Arrow of Light and Order of the Arrow awards.
