The following items were taken from Burbank Police Department reports: 200 block of West Olive Avenue: A 45-year-old Burbank man reported on Tuesday the theft of $6,000 in computer equipment from Nickelodeon. 5400 block of Corteen Place: A 23-year-old Valley Village man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of possession of an explosive device. 400 block of East Tujunga Avenue: A 28-year-old Burbank man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale.

MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH — City dignitaries extended their welcome to Yahoo! Search Marketing on Wednesday, as the company wrapped up its final phase of relocation, one year after Pasadena employees started transferring to Burbank. Yahoo! Search Marketing, a division of Internet-giant Yahoo! that provides search products and services to advertisers, now has more than 1,200 employees split between two buildings behind the Burbank Airport Hilton and Convention Center on Empire Avenue.

Three lanes added to Burbank Boulevard bridge; final phase of project to improve the intersection with Victory Boulevard.NORTHWEST DISTRICT -- Three new lanes on the Burbank Boulevard bridge are expected to open this week, signaling the near-completion of a five-year road improvement project. The north side of the bridge has been under construction since the spring to add a second left-turn lane, another through lane, and a new right-turn only lane. Railing and sidewalk work, however, still remains to be done on the south side of the bridge, requiring one lane to be closed in November and December, City Planner Greg Herrmann said.

Re: "Aviation history's best bargain might just be Lockheed," May 15. Mr. Mullins' account of the early days of the Lockheed Company was very interesting and informative. While the article focuses only on the first decade of the company's history here in Burbank, already there is sufficient history to warrant a museum depicting how great aviation was accomplished in the Golden Age of aviation, by mind and eyes and talented hands; no computers required.

Ryan Carter BURBANK -- More cars have been stolen locally this year compared to the same time last year, but burglaries and other thefts are down slightly, police said. In January and February, Burbank Police received 109 reports of stolen cars compared to 89 during that period in 2001, a 33% increase, Burbank Police Capt. Larry Koch said. Recent national reports showed the Toyota Camry is at the top of the list of most frequently stolen cars, and Burbank Capt.

Just recently, I went to Michael's Arts & Crafts, and found it to be a great store. Even better is having Aaron Brothers right there with it. The Empire Center is a beautiful shopping center. I heard a lot of people talking about it, and I had to see it for myself. I was very pleasantly surprised. I think it would be nice to have a small shuttle service for the handicapped and for nondrivers. It could be like the L.A. DOT buses I used to see in Van Nuys.
