While many Burbankers were planning and plotting their hilarious or horrific get-ups for All Hallows? Eve, more than 400 members, friends and supporters of the La Providencia Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles donned more conventional fashions as they mustered at Glendale?s Hilton Los Angeles North for their 48th annual fashion show fundraiser last week. Welcomed by guild President Sue Ann Gordon , the event?s Chairwoman Tish Hawkins Seller s and the organization?

Irma Lemus HILLSIDE DISTRICT -- From turn-of-the-century designs that would have been at home in the ballroom of Titanic to the more daring James Bond-girl fashions of the 1960s, classic threads were the order of the day at Woodbury University's second annual vintage fashion show. In addition to modeling items from some of the biggest names in names in 20th century fashion design, the Woodbury students who took part in Wednesday's event wowed an appreciative crowd with articles dating back to the 1850s.

Jackson Bell Woodbury fashion design students will display their work at Woodbury University's 39th annual fashion show, "Metropolo: A Mid-Century Night's Dream." Sunday's show at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles will begin with a cocktail and dinner reception, followed by the catwalk presentation, which will feature the works of 30 students. "We have a lot of people who will come and see the show, and it's wonderful exposure for people to see what the students are doing," said Penny Collins, chairwoman of the university's fashion department.

Guild celebrates women at fashion show Women from all walks of life were celebrated during Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild's annual luncheon and fashion show recently at the Sheraton Universal Hotel. As the theme was "Wonderful World of Women," some of those identified by master of ceremonies Kathy Buckley as being in attendance were Beverly Garland, hotel entrepreneur, actress Susan Ruttan, Patricia Modrzejewski, executive director of the medical center's foundation, and from the medical center Sister Mary Prendergast, cardiologist Dr. Martha Preciado and nurse LaTanya Harris.

La Providencia Guild has 'Razzle Dazzle' fashion show La Providencia Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is getting ready for its 45th annual fundraiser fashion show, "Razzle Dazzle." The Burbank-based guild was founded July 30, 1947. The group also has an annual spring cotillion and runs a thrift shop on Magnolia Boulevard, all benefiting the hospital. This year's Associates Project is for orthopedic endowments and the new hospital building. This fashion show event will be on Sunday and is by invitation only.

The Foothill Civitan Club of Burbank staged its 29th annual fashion show luncheon fundraiser under the theme “Strolling Down the Avenue” on May 7 in the Starlight Room at the Castaway Restaurant. Welcomed by the organization’s chairwoman, Elizabeth Kenney, the day’s program and fashion show were co-emceed by Ann Marie Coppen and actor Jack McGee, best known for his role as Fire Chief Jerry Reilly on the FX television series “Rescue Me,” and from last year’s Academy Awards best picture nominee, “The Fighter,” in which he played the main character’s father.

Take a chance at casino night One doesn't have to leave town to experience the excitement that Vegas offers. For this year's fall event, Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild is planning a "Monte Carlo Casino Night" on Nov. 6 at Lakeside Golf Club in Toluca Lake. Co-chairwomen Janice Khoury and Josie McCurley of Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild are planning an array of games, like blackjack, dice tables, roulette and a wheel of fortune.

The 2010 holiday season was kicked off last week as the La Providencia Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles staged their annual fashion show fundraiser luncheon. Presented under the theme, "The Heart of Christmas," hundreds of guild members and supporters were welcomed to the Pasadena Convention Center by the event's chairwoman, Deborah Spang . "Our devotion and dedication to Childrens Hospital is expressed in many hours of hard work which raises much-needed funds for the Clinical Imaging Research and Technology Project of our beloved hospital," Spang told the assemblage in her welcoming remarks.
