Lunch, entertainment and a fashion show will follow. Proceeds will support the Lions District?s Eyemobile, eyeglass recycling, Guide Dogs of the Desert for the blind and Canine Companions.

Burbank Emblem Club presents 'Sunny Fashions' The Burbank Emblem Club #86 will have its "Sunny Fashions" annual luncheon and fashion show on Aug. 19 at the Burbank Elks Lodge, 2232 N. Hollywood Way, Burbank. Fashions will be presented by "Annie's Scandal in Glendale. Social hour begins at 11 a.m., with luncheon at noon and fashion show and prize drawings at 1 p.m. Donation is $25, which will benefit Emblem charities, including scholarships for local high school students, Salvation Army Burbank Corps, Burbank Temporary Aid Center, Burbank Family Service Agency, Burbank Center for the Retarded, The Foothill Service Club for the Blind, the Ronald McDonald House and the State Hearing Dog Program.

The Burbank Vikings Youth Football and Cheer Program will have the first sign-up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 at the Sport Mart in the Empire Center, 1900 Empire Ave. The divisions are separated by age; 7- to 8-year-olds (up to 105 pounds), 9- to 10-year-olds (up to 125 pounds), 11- to 12-year-olds (up to 150 pounds) and 13- to 14-year-olds (up to 185 pounds). Kiwanis gala honors Rev. Larry Stamper BURBANK -- Tickets are on sale for the Burbank Noon Kiwanis Club's sixth annual fund- raising gala to honor the Rev. Larry Stamper of the Burbank First United Methodist Church. The event will be May 31 at the Lakeside Golf Club. Stamper, a former Burbank mayor, is being recognized for his years of service to the community. Money raised from silent and live auctions as well as a reverse cash giveaway, will be used for community service programs of the Noon Kiwanis Club.

Joyce Rudolph The spotlight will be on designers to the stars and more than 100 garments created by Woodbury University students at the 36th annual fashion show Thursday at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. Special recognition will be given to former Academy Awards fashion consultant Patty Fox and Eduardo Lucero, a favorite of many of today's younger actresses like Drew Barrymore. This year's fashion show, "Time Envisioned," will feature sportswear, formal wear, career looks and men's apparel.

With the kids back in school, and Labor Day less than two weeks away, the Burbank Emblem Club squeezed in one last summer fundraiser by staging their annual fashion show luncheon at the Burbank Elks Lodge on Saturday. Presented under the theme "Summer Daze," My Fair Lady Outlet teamed up with Dressed Up! of Tarzana to provide the afternoon's fashions. Welcomed by the organization's president, Mary Hoffman , and event co-chairwomen, Elaine Paonessa and Barbara Maslyk , members and guests enjoyed socializing and perusing fashionable offerings prior to a baked ham lunch and the main event.

When she came to Woodbury University more than three years ago, Jocelyn Ramirez planned to study architecture. But finding out how structured it was, Ramirez felt her creativity would be stifled and switched to fashion. Now in her senior year at the Burbank campus, Ramirez has a sense of the satisfaction she longed for. "I think I can be more creative and express myself through fashion," she said. "I like to make people feel good about themselves and enjoy seeing their expression when they put on clothing that makes them feel special."

Hopes honored at fashion show "Thanks for the memories" is the theme of the annual luncheon and fashion show presented by Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild, honoring Dolores and Bob Hope, on March 15 in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Universal Hotel. Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with a boutique featuring jewelry, handbags, tableware and other items. Carin Holmenas is producing the fashion show featuring fashions by Robert Ellis of Studio City.

There were several doctors in the house when Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild presented its fashion show luncheon Saturday at the Universal Sheraton Hotel in Universal City. Nine doctors consented to model men's wear by Sy Devore during the fashion show. And while some looked very uncomfortable hearing the cheers from the mostly female audience, others took the runway — and the attention — all in stride. The doctors-turned-models were Mark Botnick , radiation oncology; Robert Feinfield , ophthalmology; Eric Feit , internal medicine; Rex Hoffman , radiation oncology; Stephen McNeese , plastic surgery; Raul Mena , medical director of the planned Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center; Raffi-Jean Mesrobian , otolaryngology; August Silva , cardiology; and Stephen Yacoubian , orthopedic surgery.
