Producers of a new theater company in Burbank want to bring a variety of plays that provoke thought, as well as a comfy place to discuss them. The Actors Repertory Theatre has moved from North Hollywood to its new home, the Missing Piece Theatre, formerly known as the Third Stage theater. Its first production at the new location, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” opened Friday night. Producers plan to have three shows a season, said Penny L. Moore, the company’s founder, who is also a film and TV actress.

The sign advertising his show still looms over the NBC parking lot, and for a few more days throngs of fans will crowd the studio gates in Burbank before tapings. But Jay Leno says he's ready to leave - and this time, he says he really means it. After more than 40 years, "The Tonight Show" is leaving Southern California and heading back to New York, with the 63-year-old Leno, who first became host in 1992, handing off the show to Jimmy Fallon, just 39. Four years have passed since NBC botched a similar passing of the torch to Conan O'Brien.

High school show celebrates the holidays with dancing and music crossing time periods and genres.With voices swelling through Mozart and tinkling through a rendition of "I'll be Home for Christmas," singers in John Burroughs High School's annual "Holiday Spectacular" know celebrating the holidays requires music from across time periods and genres. The annual three-night run, which concludes tonight, combines all four of the high school's choirs in a performance that includes classical and contemporary music, dance and lit holiday sets constructed by the students' parents.

Alexa Capeloto BURBANK -- The Colony Theatre Co. has a new home in a state-of-the-art theater on North Third Street. But for its first show there, set to premiere later this month, the company is returning to its roots. Ray Bradbury's "Dandelion Wine" will run from Aug. 26 until at least Dec. 10. The play is an adaptation of the celebrated author's semiautobiographical novel and gathered rave reviews when The Colony first produced it in 1981. "I'm very excited," said Bradbury from his home in Los Angeles.
