To begin with, ?Inkheart? is great fun. It?s full of fantasy, fearless ferrets, frights, foolishness, and best of all, the fabulous Brendan Fraser. Cornelia Funke (pronounced FOON-key), author of the ?Inkheart? series in its original three-volume, German-language book form, admits that her hero, Mo, was written entirely with Fraser in mind. What a great way to write. If stymied by any particular plot impasse, she simply had to ask herself, ?What would Brendan do?? Briefly, ?

TODAY Burbank High School Vocal Music Assn. will host the ?Burbank Blast? Show Choir Festival from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Burbank High School?s Performing Arts Center, 902 N. Third St., Burbank. Twelve high school show choirs from across Southern California will kick off the competition season with this inaugural event. Admission is $10.
