JOHN BURROUGHS HIGH SCHOOL John Burroughs High School Class of 1955 will have a mini reunion in Las Vegas on March 30 and 31. BELLARMINE-JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL Bellarmine-Jefferson High School Class of 1972 has finally scheduled a 30-year reunion on Aug. 30 on the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

Alexis Sheehy will be assistant superintendent for instructional services effective Nov. 7, and Mike Bertram is now the assistant principal of instruction for Burbank High School. Sheehy, the director of secondary education, will combine her existing responsibilities with those of her new position. Before joining the school district in January 2001, she was principal of West High School in Torrance. Sheehy earned a doctorate in educational leadership from USC. Bertram replaces Rick Jameson, who accepted a position outside the district.

MOSKUN Amy Germaine and Eric Moskun have announced their plans to marry in August. The bride-to-be is the daughter of George and Cheryl Germaine of Washington. She graduated from Linfield College with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and math. She is earning her doctorate in chemistry from USC. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Richard and Hazel Moskun of Burbank. He graduated from John Burroughs High School and received his bachelor's degree in physics from Occidental College.

ROGERO — RICCIARDI Angel Rogero and Mark Ricciardi, both of Burbank, have announced their engagement and will be married in October. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Gwen Cardenas, of Glendale, and Armando Rogero . She graduated from John Burroughs High School and received her bachelor's degree in music from Cal State Northridge. She is employed at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. The groom-elect is the son of Frances Ricciardi, of New York, and the late Louis Ricciardi . He graduated from St. Peter's Boys High School and received his associate of arts degree in communications from the College of Staten Island.

Gary Moskowitz BURBANK -- Students in the Burbank Unified School District were notified this week that they will be rewarded by the state for their academic achievements. Almost 300 ninth-, 10th- and 11th-grade students from Burbank High School, John Burroughs High School and Burbank's Options for Youth program have been recognized. These students earned qualifying scores on exams in the Standardized Testing and Reporting Program, which are administered in the spring.

The Foothill Civitan Club of Burbank recently awarded $1,500 in scholarships to four Burbank graduates. Dilhara Fernando of John Burroughs High School and Rick Swanson of Burbank High School were scholastic award winners receiving $500 each. Monterey High School vocational scholarships went to Rodrigo Barreto, who received $300 and Ivan Ramos, who received $200. The organization celebrates its 25th year in Sep- tember. It is part of an interna- tional service organization whose primary purpose is to help raise funds for the Civitan International Research Center at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, chapter President Shirley Pratt said.
