Ryan Carter NORTHWEST DISTRICT -- A Burbank man was arrested on suspicion of threatening his girlfriend's life and imprisoning her. Lube Sikanovski, 40, was arrested Wednesday after locking his 38-year-old girlfriend inside their home in the 1300 block of North Niagara Street, Burbank Police Sgt. John Dilibert said. Sikanovski nailed the windows shut and deadbolted the locks on the doors, trapping the woman inside for four days, Dilibert said. Sikanovski allegedly hit her in the face and choked her. The woman was able to escape, but Sikanovski found her in front of the house and tried to drag her back inside, Dilibert said.

Ryan Carter MAGNOLIA PARK -- Police are looking for a man who two women said was peeking at them through their windows. One woman had just walked out of the shower and into her bedroom Thursday morning when she glanced through the window to see a pair of eyes peeking through, Burbank Police Sgt. John Dilibert said. She heard the scream of another woman who lived in a neighboring apartment in the 200 block of West Verdugo Avenue. The other woman was in the bathroom when she looked into the mirror and saw the man's reflection staring at her, Dilibert said.

A North Hollywood man was arrested Friday night in Burbank after he allegedly fired about seven shots near Verdugo Avenue and Hollywood Way, police said. Several callers reported two men engaged in an argument in the Del Taco parking lot on the 3700 block of Verdugo, Lt. John Dilibert said. At around 11:30 p.m., a witness reported hearing a string of gunshots or fireworks in the area, Dilibert said. Police confirmed about seven shots were fired after expended cartridge cases were found.

Rotary hosts fund-raiser for local doctor's dream VALLEY GLEN -- An area Rotary Club is hosting a musical performance to raise money to see a Burbank doctor's dream come to fruition. Physician Yeneneh Betru, who was killed Sept. 11 when the plane he was riding crashed into the Pentagon, had been working to send dialysis machines to his native Ethiopia The Rotary Club of Universal City-Sunrise has adopted his quest and to raise money, it will present "Sweet Charity," written by Neil Simon and produced by Marjorie Vanderhoff, at 8 p.m. Thursday at Los Angeles Valley College.

Jenna Bordelon RANCHO DISTRICT -- An elderly man who was bringing a can of milk to his invalid wife was struck and killed in a hit and run early Friday evening, according to police. The man, whose identity was not released, was rushed to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, where he died of massive trauma, police said. The man was struck, thrown onto the hood of the car and carried about 25 feet, police said. The car was heading south, allegedly in the gutter, on the west side of the 1000 block of Main Street when it rammed into the man. Police said the man was walking away from his silver Buick Regal, which was parked across the street from the Beverly Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Ryan Carter A bumbled carjacking in which the stolen cars ended up colliding in a Burbank street led to the arrests of three men early Friday morning. Alberto Zepeda, 20, Moses Lopez, 18, and Victor Gonzalez, 21, all from Los Angeles, were arrested after a pursuit that stemmed from the theft of an Acura and a BMW in Glendale and ended outside Gradys, a bar at 4108 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank Police Sgt. John Dilibert said. Around midnight Thursday, the men allegedly drove a stolen white van into Glendale, stopped a Glendale man driving the BMW in the 300 block of Pioneer Drive, and ordered him out of the car at gunpoint, Glendale Police Det. Mike Toledo said.

Ryan Carter MEDIA DISTRICT -- Two men from Pacoima have been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary after police set up a perimeter near the 300 block of Screenland Drive and Hollywood Way to find them. Police aren't sure yet if the men, who were arrested Aug. 8, are involved in what they said was a recent spike in residential burglary in the Media District, said Sgt. John Dilibert of the Burbank Police. Jamanhi Javari Jones, 21, and Robert Reeves, 24, both of Pacoima, were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary after a witness told police of the men's alleged suspicious activity in the neighborhood.

Ryan Carter SUN VALLEY -- A suspected stolen car led Burbank Police on a short pursuit, which ended up in a minor car accident with three arrests, police said. A 20-year-old Sun Valley man, 19-year-old Sylmar woman and a 16-year-old Van Nuys boy were arrested Sunday on suspicion of stealing a 1991 Chevy Blazer, Burbank Police Sgt. John Dilibert said. A fourth man was being sought Monday, Dilibert said. Police spotted the suspected stolen Blazer at about 11 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Hollywood Way and San Fernando Road.

Tim Willert MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH -- A 15-year-old Burbank High School student was arrested on suspicion of intending to commit vandalism after police received a call the boy and a friend were loitering in the rear of an apartment complex near the school. The boy and his 14-year-old companion were stopped by Burbank police around noon Feb. 15 in the 1100 block of North San Fernando Road. They were arrested after their backpacks were searched, Sgt. John Dilibert said.
