DE BELL GOLF CLUB — On the 10th hole at recently refurbished De Bell Golf Club, John Lee’s hands began to shake. Lee, a sophomore on the Crescenta Valley High boys’ golf team, found himself in an unusual situation — competing in a playoff for the right to win a tournament. Lee passed the test by making a two-foot par to win the 45th installment of the Burbank High Schools’ Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. Lee bested South Torrance’s Jeff Wells to become the tournament’s city low gross champion.

Here is a bit more ammunition concerning the sorting of our mail. I live in an apartment complex in the 1900 block of West Verdugo Avenue. Every week my weekly newspaper is delivered, but sometimes there is a second paper folded inside of my paper. And where should this second paper have been delivered? Why, to an address on San Gabriel Boulevard in Pasadena. One week, three papers came, and the third one should have been sent to a subscriber who lives in Norwalk.
