After watching ?Lovely Day? at the Luna Playhouse in Glendale, the word I must use to summarize the production is ?un-fulfilling.? There seems to be lots of potential that is never realized, leaving many questions unanswered. It?s one of those instances where you want to have a deep discussion with someone about the elements of the performance you just saw, but there are too many things missing to reach any satisfying conclusion. The fault here lies with the author, Leslie Ayvazian, who has set up a situation that?

It was quite a day at the park on Saturday. A "lovely day" to hear Bellarmine-Jefferson High cross-country Coach Jim Couch tell it. For the Guards' coach, who found himself immersed in handling all the festivities as much as coaching, the 32nd Annual Bellarmine/Griffith Park Cross-Country Invitational was as much a successful event as it was a showcase of stellar cross-country talent. "It was a lovely day, today. We had a deserving dedication to Paul Suzuki," Couch said.

Karen Hubbard What a lovely day! The La Providencia Guild Fashion Show in the Grand Ballroom of The Sheraton Universal lived up to all of my expectations. This year's theme, "From the Heart," was carried out through every aspect of the day. None of the nearly 650 guests present would soon forget that the proceeds from this event are designated for the Cardiology Endowment for the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles. Fashions were provided by Margo of Newhall and J. David's Custom Clothiers of Santa Clarita.

The morning of Nov. 22 dawned bright and clear. Our frontyard is covered with leaves and the air is crisp. I can smell the wood smoke from a neighbor's fireplace. It's a lovely fall day in Burbank. Yesterday was cold and the skies were overcast, which seemed fitting. It was the day we laid Officer Matthew Pavelka to rest. It was 40 years ago today that another young man lost his life in the service of his country. His name, of course, was John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
