LUTHER BURBANK MIDDLE SCHOOL — The way the Hoover High boys’ soccer team dominated Thursday in the first half against Burbank, it appeared the Tornadoes were in for a lopsided win. In the early going, Hoover dictated play, kept the ball in Bulldog territory for most of the half and created its share of chances. However, despite the domination, the Tornadoes couldn’t score. That left the door open for Burbank, which took advantage of its chances to notch a 2-0 win at Luther Burbank Middle School in a Pacific League opener for both schools.
