BURBANK — The Burbank Fire Department will trim the number of on-duty firefighters on Monday by two as part of the cost-cutting measures passed by the City Council in June, officials said. The move is a result of the $1.27 million budget cut the Fire Department sustained as part of this fiscal year’s spending plan, and will allow officials to reinstate Engine 14, which was taken out of operation July 1 for at least six months to save $563,828, acting Chief Ray Krakowski said.
