Richard Daniel Thompson, the son of Richard J. and Irma A. Thompson of La Crescenta, received the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop 303 of the Verdugo Hills Council, Boy Scouts of America. For his Eagle Scout project, Richard renovated the playground for Catholic Charities Glendale Community Center. He led a group of Scouts and parents in trimming trees, replanting grass and repairing the sprinkler system. He also hauled away unusable items to the dump and built four benches for outdoor seating.
