Karen Hubbard Burbank Noon Kiwanis Club members and chairwoman Marsha Jackson are hard at work in preparation for their third annual Gala Fund raiser to be held at 6 p.m. July 29 at Lakeside Country Club. There will be a silent auction as well as a live auction which will be conducted by a professional auctioneer. Tickets are available for the Opportunity Drawing, with $5,000 available as the grand prize. The event will honor Burbank's new mayor, Bill Wiggins, and is expected to raise a major percentage of the funds needed to support the club's ongoing projects.

The Burbank Kiwanis For Fun Car Show and Arts and Crafts Fair is almost here. This 13th Annual Car Show will be held on Sunday, April 29, from 9 to 3:30 p.m., at Johnny Carson Park, 400 Bob Hope Dr., Burbank. It will feature beautiful vintage vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, live entertainment, goodie bags, opportunity drawings, food, beverages, and arts and crafts vendors. This club serves a great pancake breakfast and a super lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs and the best French fries this side of the Mississippi.

SERVICE CLUBS The Burbank Civitan Club was the host club for the recent annual Inter-Service Club Luncheon at The Castaway. Those attending heard from Burbank Unified School District Supt. Gregory Bowman on the state of Burbank education and were eligible to win several prizes. Also on hand were school board members Richard Raad, Trish Burnett and Elena Hubbell; City Treasurer Donna Anderson; and former Leader service-club columnist Bob Young. Randy Garcia, immediate past president of the Burbank Civitan Club, was the master of ceremonies for the noon event.
