Jenna Bordelon BURBANK -- Residents who have put off registering their pets with the Burbank Animal Shelter for 2001 are running out of time. After Jan. 31, fees will double for those who have not registered their dogs older than 4 months, horses, or wild animals. The Burbank 2001 animal registrations will continue from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Jan. 31 at the shelter, 1150 Victory Place. Cat owners can voluntarily sign up their feline friends for $5. Owners must bring proof of a current rabies vaccination and a spay or neuter certificate.

Iris is a 3-year-old Labrador and American Staffordshire terrier mix. She is spayed and ready to go home. She loves playtime and a good petting equally, and she knows some basic commands. Iris would be a great hiking partner but needs a little more work with leash etiquette. Her identification number is A016309. ZOE Zoe is a 7-year-old, medium-size, spayed female Jindo mix. Zoe was found at Bob Hope Airport and was quite scared at first. While initially shy, she warms up to most people within minutes. She is gentle on a leash, loves to rest beside you if you are brushing her and has a sweet demeanor. Zoe is capable of jumping very high and must have a yard with appropriate fencing.
