Camille Villanueva of Immaculate Heart High School is the recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from the Ryman Program for Young Artists. Webelos Scouts from Pack 50 of Verdugo Hills Council of the Boy Scouts of America received their Arrow of Light award, the Cub Scouts' highest honor, at the recent Blue and Gold Banquet at Village Christian School in Sun Valley. The Scouts are Michael Betack, Ryan Cho, Chase Hilt, Joseph Horne, Craig Ennis, Kevin Ticsay and Collin Westphal of Burbank; Christopher Wiegman and David Freeman of Glendale; Matthew Lewis of Tujunga; Summers Stratton of Shadow Hills; Patrick Volland of Sun Valley; and Ryan Watts of Valley Village.

The following information was taken from police reports: 700 block of Mariposa Street: A 30-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested Friday for suspicion of burglary and grand theft after he allegedly was found with $86,000 worth of electronic equipment that had been taken from a business. MAGNOLIA PARK 2400 block of Magnolia Boulevard: A 62-year-old Burbank man and a 35-year-old Burbank woman were robbed Friday at gunpoint and had jewelry of an unknown amount taken from them.

The following items were taken from Burbank Police Department reports: 200 block of East Magnolia Boulevard: A 16-year-old Sun Valley girl was arrested on Monday on suspicion of petty theft at Mervyns. 1800 block of Empire Avenue: A 21-year-old Kansas, Mo., woman reported the theft of her purse on Monday while she was shopping at Target. 1800 block of North San Fernando Boulevard: A 26-year-old Burbank man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of driving without a license.

PHILLIP ALEXANDER LEARY Phillip Alexander Leary, 92, died Jan. 24, 2003, in Sun Valley. Born Feb. 26, 1910, in Sioux City, Iowa, he lived in Burbank for five years and worked as an aircraft jig builder. He was a 25-year member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Leary is survived by his son, John Nicholas Leary; daughter, Mary Margaret McQueen; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The visitation for family and friends is from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home, 2121 W. Burbank Blvd.

Good morning, readers. Today is Tuesday, January 22. A police pursuit that started in Sun Valley ended in Burbank Monday afternoon. The driver, who was in a commercial van, hit two vehicles in Burbank before the low speed pursuit pursuit came to an end on Buena Vista Street. Burbank Leader Police had attempted to pull over the driver in Sun Valley on suspicion of driving under the influence . CBS News Police say human remains have been found in a shallow grave in Big Tujunga Canyon , reports the Daily News . A male nurse has been arrested after he allegedly performed a sex act on a corpse at a Sherman Oaks hospital.

Michael Coohig officiated. The maid of honor was Megan Lackey and the matron of honor was Vickie O'Neill. The bridesmaids were Nita Dahlia, Joslynn Lurie, and Sarah Buller. The flower girl was Allie Martin, and her escort was Blake Corrington. The best men were William Barnett and Nick Gergov.

Paul Clinton AIRPORT DISTRICT -- As part of its 18-month study seeking a curfew on nighttime flights, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority has set up four "listening sessions" to gauge public sentiment. The study, known as a Part 161, could cost as much as $4 million, airport officials said. The four sessions are scheduled for August.
