BURBANK — As the 2009 NFL Draft continued to roll on Saturday, Eben Britton became more frustrated and angrier with each pick. Britton, a former Burroughs High standout, was predicted by many experts to be taken in the first round. Some even said if he had not come out after his junior year with the University of Arizona, he could have been a top-10 pick in next year’s draft. However, as the first round came to a close, Britton was still on the board. “It was very frustrating,” Britton said of waiting for his name to be called.

BURBANK — Hot, tired, uncomfortable. Working out in full pads under the hot Florida sun in mid-August is not exactly a fun place to be. But for Burroughs High graduate Eben Britton, it is exactly where he wants to be. Britton, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive lineman, is entrenched in preseason training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is not only learning the ropes in anticipation of his rookie NFL season, but he is fighting for a starting spot. Britton, a second-round draft pick out of the University of Arizona, is in camp after signing a four-year contract earlier this month with Jacksonville.
